Andrew is originally from Southland and now works across the Lower South Island, with a strong focus on Central Otago and Southland, supporting residential, commercial, agricultural, industrial, and infrastructure developments.
A Wealth of Experience
Andrew’s career began in Invercargill, where he worked for six years at a professional quantity surveying firm, gaining a solid foundation in cost estimation, project analysis, and construction economics. His expertise was further developed during his nine-year tenure with Bechtel Asia Pacific Ltd, a globally recognised engineering and construction company. There, he served as a senior project controls engineer, overseeing budget estimating, cost control, scheduling, and programming on large-scale mining, smelter, coal, and infrastructure projects across New Zealand and Australia. In 2003, Andrew returned to Invercargill and joined a local construction company as a quantity surveyor and project manager. In this role, he was instrumental in tendering for and delivering a wide variety of construction projects, including:
Educational and Government buildings
Hotels, motels, and hospitality facilities
Design-and-build warehouse developments
Weighbridge and stormwater management infrastructure
Andrew also took on responsibility for project coordination, working closely with architects, engineers, and planning consultants to achieve regulatory compliance and environmental approvals — particularly for complex projects involving drainage and environmental mitigation.
